ABOUT KRISTIN OTTESEN
I have spent most of my life sharpening my skills as an artist and have built the necessary skills to handle most upholstery projects. I have the ability to assess each individual project and to customize to meet the needs of the client whether it is a repair, recover or reupholster of a piece. I am also skilled in design, color matching and minor repair. I am devoted to the idea that it is more economical and environmentally friendly to recycle, reuse and restore existing furniture, equipment, upholstery and other items. It is my mission to produce the highest quality work and provide the best value invested through restoration of extant resources; responsible business practices; meaningful and timely communication; and a professional atmosphere. I have been upholstering since 2011 and established my business in 2015. WORKING NEW LIFE INTO OLD FURNITURE Most believe that one can replace old furniture with new furniture, but that is no longer true for the quality of construction has changed. If one values quality furniture then reupholstering old furniture is the right thing to do even though it can cost as much as buying a new piece of furniture. Reupholstering also allows for the chance to redesign an existing piece whether it be just fabric, adding or taking a feature or modifying it to look like a different piece all together. COMMERCIAL: Medical, Office, Restaurants, Construction, etc. I handled a number of business needs insuring timely turn around, redesign, project development and management, extensive estimates for large scale projects and ensuring materials meet industry health and safety standards. I have worked with AP mechanics to insure projects meet stringent Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements and hospital environmental specialist and restaurant owners to meet health and safety codes. |
Reupholstering commercial upholstery could be a cost savings since most of the time one would have to buy a whole new piece for an upholstery problem. Furthermore it is just better for the environment when we can extend the life of the furniture through reupholstering.
