Family heirlooms are very popular to reupholster since the new generation of owner has a different style but loves the furniture. This couple used high quality fabrics from Cf Stinson fabrics to bring a more modern pattern to the design. Gimp and decorative tacks are from Lee's Decorative Showcase. The wood was cleaned and finish was restored on all pieces.
The Pink Sofa
It took a week and a half to strip down this beauty to the wood and completely rebuild. The springs are now tied eight different directions giving added support and longevity to the spring base so that everything works together. The cushions are foam core and down filled. Multiple layers of different types of fill make up the padding over the springs and outside of the sofa. The fabric is a polyester from a Renaissance Collection.
This 1965 style sofa uses a zig-zag spring in it's construction, the whole frame is enclosed, and welt cord is used through out. Cushions are dacron and foam core.
